Fluttr is free to use. These terms are short because there is not much to say.

Using Fluttr

• You must be 13 or older to create an account.
• Be decent to other birders. Comments that harass, threaten, or spam other people may be removed and the account closed.
• Do not use Fluttr to disturb birds. Playing recordings near nesting or roosting birds can harm them; the app reminds you of this, and you are responsible for how you use it.
• Do not try to break into the service, scrape other people's data, or automate sign-ins.

Your content

Your catches, notes, and comments are yours. By posting them you let Fluttr show them to the people described in the privacy policy. Delete your account at any time to take everything down.

Bird data and media

Species information comes from eBird and the American Ornithological Society; descriptions and images from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons; photographs from iNaturalist contributors; recordings from Xeno-canto and Wikimedia Commons contributors. Each item carries its own Creative Commons license, shown in the app's Credits screen. Sound ID uses Google's Perch model under the Apache License 2.0. Identifications are estimates and can be wrong; do not rely on them for anything that matters.

No warranty

Fluttr is provided as is. We try to keep it working and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and we are not liable for losses from using it, to the extent the law allows.
